Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has asked Members of County Assembly (MCAs) to shoot down NASA's people's assembly motion if it is brought to the assembly for debate.
Duale wants the MCA's not to debate the motion that he termed futile and a waste of time.
In an interview with the Standard on Saturday, the National Assembly leader of Majority claimed that NASA's people's assembly is not backed by law.
He said that the constitution only recognises Parliament, Senate, and County assembly.
Duale claimed that NASA is seeking ways of remaining politically relevant after losing in the August 8 presidential election and also the October 26 repeat presidential poll.
"I want to urge MCAs especially in Jubilee strongholds and swing vote counties to reject NASA's People's Assembly motion if it is brought to their respective assemblies for debate," Duale said.
The vocal Garissa Township MP asked opposition leader Raila Odinga to stop engaging in battles he cannot win.
He claimed that Raila is using unconstitutional methods to get power.
Duale stated that the former Prime Minister (PM) is a 'past tense' adding that he should accept the fact that Jubilee is in power and will be in power for the next five years if president-elect Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election is upheld by the Supreme Court.
NASA is seeking for the creation of People's Assembly across the 47 counties to push for electoral reforms.
Over 10 pro-NASA counties have debated and adopted the people's assembly motion.
