National Super Alliance (NASA) flag-bearer Raila Odinga's campaign has taken an unexpected twist as members of his coalition seem to have abandoned him at the most vital moment.
During a meeting last week with several members of his party Raila called on all MPs under the coalition to contribute 500,000 to help fund his campaign.
However, as of midnight yesterday reports have revealed that only 200, 000 had been collected which could be a clear indication that many have began to distance themselves.
Furthermore, NASA co-principial Kalonzo Musyoka was missing in action during the IEBC demo. Kalonzo is said to have taken his sick wife, Pauline abroad for treatment.
According to reports, President Kenyatta gave Kalonzo 25 million to help with his wife's further treatment.
Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has been one of the main contributors to Raila campaign despite a recent disagreement with Raila over the house business commitee nomination.
Odinga recently targeted Safaricom claiming that they were involved in the rigging of the August 8 presidential campaigns, however, in a written statement released yesterday, Safaricom through their CEO Bob Collymore refuted the claims and said their are willing to undergo any investigations should they be probed.
