Turkana's Governor Josephat Nanok win has been challenged in court by his main challenger John Munyes.
Munyes was the former area Senator.
According to Munyes, the elections were shambolic and characterized by violence, voter bribery, corruption, use of force, intimidation and that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) supported Nanok to win the polls.
In the petition filed on Tuesday, Munyes said elections in the county started a day after the official date with materials arrived at a polling station in the afternoon and people allowed to vote a day later.
He claims that a number of voters were turned away on the voting day.
Munyes said IEBC is to blame for being unable to conduct a free, fair and credible election.
He has sued Mr Nanok, IEBC and County Returning Officer George Oyugi.
“We have a very strong and a water tight case with tangible evidence and I know as Jubilee Party we will win because we believe in the rule of law and in God,” he said after filing the petition.
