(Photo/the standard.co.ke) Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has assured NASA supporters that Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka's planned swearing in on January 30 will not be postponed.
Muthama, who is a member of the People's Assembly committee that is preparing for the swearing-in says that the planned coronation is unstoppable.
Speaking to journalists in Kangundo Town on Sunday, the former Machakos senator said no one including Jubilee government can stop the planned event.
The senator assured NASA supporters that Raila and Kalonzo will take oath as the people's president and deputy president respectively.
"Where we have reached no one can dare stop us from administering the oath to Raila and Kalonzo as the duly elected people's president and deputy respectively," he said.
Muthama stated that they are not afraid of Jubilee threats indicating that they have the power of the people behind them.
The former senator warned Jubilee government against attempts to stop the event which he maintained is legal.
Muthama said that the swearing in is based on Chapter One of the constitution.
He claimed that Raila's swearing-in is the only hope for Kenyans for a better country.
He said that electoral fraud will be a thing of the past once Raila is sworn in as the people's president.
"Raila's swearing-in will give the people power to push for electoral justice and reforms and ensure the credibility of elections," he said.
NASA says that it will swear in Raila on January 30 at Uhuru Park in Nairobi.
The Raila Odinga led alliance has lined up a series of rallies in its strongholds in readiness for the swearing in.
