Former Vice President and Wiper party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka speaking in Machakos on Monday announced that he is planning to rebrand his party One Kenya Movement (OKM) as he aims at the top seat.
It is well known that the name of a political party is key when it comes to gaining or losing followers. The more attractive the title and the slogan of a political party, the more likely you will gain a lot of followers.
Well, for Musyoka his move to re brand Wiper to One Kenya Movement (OKM) is a major impetus to him and his political career as the new name is bound to unite Kenyans at large.
Issuing his speech to the the congregation, Mr. Musyoka said he had been dreaming to rebrand his party so as to reach as many Kenyans as possible ahead of his 2022 presidential race.
He said that he, by the aid of his new party's name, will traverse all parts of Kenya to familiarize himself and the party to sweep his avenue to the top seat.
Should he put a lot of efforts on his new party, the Ukambani top leader may be able to bring Kenyans together as his party's name suggests. Rebranding his party is a great political move that will see his recognition in the country move to higher scales although the splitting of NASA may cost him presidency.
Governors Charity Ngilu (Kitui) and Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) among other Ukambani leaders who attended the meeting promised to support Kalonzo except Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua who claimed that the meeting was not bound to development.
