Moiben Member of Parliament Silas Tiren has called on the rigorous efforts by the residents to push for constitutional amendments.
Tiren says Kenyans should read the constitution, understand it and give their suggestion of how they would wish the constitution amended.
The MP who has been branded a rebel in the Jubilee party claims the current constitution is non-inclusive and might not help change Kenyans livelihoods hence need to push for an amendment.
“I am afraid that if we do not change the constitution, we will keep on fighting for our rights, our pleas will not be addressed and we will circumnavigate around our issues forever," said Tiren at Mosop constituency Nandi county on Sunday.
The MP who was together with his counterparts William Kamket (Tiaty), Vincent Tuwei (Mosop) and Wilson Kogo (Chesumei) further hit out at the national government for failing to implement the Maputo declaration of allocating at least 10 percent of its budget to the Agriculture Sector.
He sais the Sh2.9 million allocated for the sector was not sufficient.
“Why should the government not implement the Maputo declaration?" asked Tiren who has been on the forefront championing for the farmers' issues in the North Rift region.
