A senior Orange Democratic Movement official has hinted that Deputy President William Ruto may live to regret for ignoring her 2012 advise ahead of the 2013 presidential election.
Ogla Karani, the ODM treasurer said she told the former Eldoret North MP to partner with opposition leader Raila Odinga during before the 2013 general election if he wanted to became president one time in Kenya.
She, however, said the Deputy President ignored her advise and proceeded to form a coalition with then The National Alliance party leader Uhuru Kenyatta and helped elevate him to the presidency.
"Why is my brother William Ruto becoming hysterical at the unity of Raila and Uhuru as if he did not know!" she posed in a twit on her official Twitter account.
"I told him in August 2012 that his only hope for become Kenya’s President was to partner with God’s chosen president Raila Odinga. He decided to put his life on the line for slaughter."
Speculation is rife that the union between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition chief Raila Odinga is mean to lock Ruto out of the presidency in 2022. Ruto intends to vie for the country's top seat during the polls.
Majority of leaders from Central Kenya where Uhuru comes from have already endorsed his union with Raila.
