The central region  vote is not a sure bet for Ruto as a section of leaders from the area have hinted that it’s not going to be a walk in the park for the deputy president to ascend to the top sit in the Country.

The uncertainty of the central vote has forced Ruto to make a lot of inroads in the western part of the country, and reports that he may have his running mate from the Abaluhya community.

This only confirms that the DP knows the importance of the region's vote for his bid.

Despite Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria assuring him of the Kikuyu backing in 2022, he has realized there is no way the community are going to vote him in as a block the way they voted President Kenyatta overwhelmingly in the two elections.
