The entry of Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto into the National Super Alliance (NASA) ahead of the August -general polls has not only re-energized the political outfit but also send a strong message to Jubilee.

Before making the recent move, the Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) leader had hinted on supporting the opposition, but it was until last week that the Jubilee leaders confirmed that he meant his word.

NASA seems to grow stronger each day amidst claims that the leaders are likely to fall out before the election date.

The entry of Ruto into the alliance means that the leaders must hold together to the end if they want to keep their supporters.

The alliance cannot afford to lose Wiper Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga, Ford Kenya Leader Moses Wetangula, or ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi.

Ruto has assured the opposition that he will pitch tents in different parts of the Rift Valley until President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto leave power in August.

Ruto is not a pushover when it comes to the politics of this region. Unlike in the past where NASA was considered incomplete, the entry of Ruto has spiced up the alliance.  Uhuru and Ruto will have to campaign in different parts of the Rift Valley if at all they have to retain power.
