Calls for Kenya to be divided into Pro NASA and Pro Jubilee are driven by self-centered leaders.
Although some Kenyans claim to have suffered from political injustices because of the leadership of the Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities, we have not reached a point of seceding.
This has more than 40 tribes governed by the Constitution. As Kenyans, we need each. We cannot ignore the fact that economic capabilities of all regions different.
Each of the counties depends on the rest in one way or another. Kenya has continued to lag behind because of tribalism. Calls for secession are meant to fragment this county into regions based on tribes.
When the price of Unga rose, all Kenyans including those in Jubilee strongholds where the President enjoys support suffered. Time has come for Kenyans to preach unity, peace and transparency.
There are better ways we can address issues such as disputed elections. When Kenya was fighting for Independence, all the communities stood up in arms and in one voice to drive away the colonial masters.
The Kenya population should embrace the same formula to send home corrupt leaders. It does not make sense to secede when we keep on electing leaders who have been failing us in different capacities as a nation.
