Photo/nation.co.ke.A political analyst has predicted that the sibling rivalry currently being witnessed among the Nasa coalition affiliate parties could actually be a blessing in disguise for its flag bearer Raila Odinga.
Both ODM,Wiper,Ford Kenya and the Amani National Congress (ANC) bigwigs are embroiled in a bitter do-or-die battle in various political seats in their perceived strongholds which is threatening to rip apart the coalition.
However, according to political risk and management analyst Dismas Mokua, the infighting is a blessing in disguise.Mokua believes the various candidates running for the same positions in different Nasa parties will all mobilize their supporters to come out and help them secure the seat abd in the process ensure Raila also benefit from the massive turnout."Look at Kakamega for instance,Oparanya and Khalwale are embroiled in a do or die battle to secure the governorship.Khalwale will mobilize his supporters and so will Oparanya and that will result in high voter turn out.But then these voters will not overlook the presidential contest which means massive votes for Raila and that could easily hand him victory," he said.Mokua added that Mr Odinga should not engage himself in trying to persuade other candidates to back down saying the current predicament could work to his favor.Areas that are witnessing intense sibling rivalry include Mombasa pitting Hassan Joho of ODM and Hassan Omar of Wiper,Kakamega pitting Oparanya(ODM)and Boni Khalwale (Ford Kenya) ,Bungoma pitting Moses Wetangula and ODM's Boniface Nyongesa.
