“Winter, please go away.” That is the message which dealers in soft drinks across the region are desperate about.
The prevailing cold weather, they say, has badly affected their sales volumes which have in turn eaten into their profits. The most affected are dealers in soft drinks many of whom have reported reduced sales and minimal cash flow in their businesses.
According to Ms Irene Nduku, a leading distributor of Coca-Cola products in lower Eastern region, the ‘bad weather’ has severely affected many businesses trading in soft drinks.
“We can only wish that summer will set in soon so that we recover from the current scenario which is driving our profits to almost negative,” Nduku told this writer in an interview.
