Kenyan companies that produce plastic bags for instance counts millions of money in form of revenue while the effects of the plastic bags on the environment has really affected Nairobi. The political face of Nairobi is different from its environmental shape. The residents here in Kibera therefore have a very crucial part to play in improving "modern" Kibera. After all there is need to understand that "Kibera modern slum" shall be chucking the same amount of waste into Nairobi and its rivers.

Proper planning is undoubtedly the way to go here. I have seen a great number of youth groups struggle to manage the waste by collecting garbage. The recent road network into Kibera is a good move but consistency is still key. As Kenya head for another session of campaign and elections, maybe a leader with vision can tap into the same and earn a great reward for considering Kibera. The mentality that "Baba" owns Kibera is a myth that never was. Kibera hosts cosmopolitan character with adults voters who shall exerciser their constitutional "free will" vote.
