Given the political situation in the country, public figures have been in the forefront preaching peace and unity.
Octopizzo recently feuded with fellow artiste and now Sterehe member of the National Assembly Jaguar, over the killings that happened in the country during the electioneering period.
According to Octopizzo, while few have taken to the streets and local hoods to talk with young people about maintaining peace, the rest is just keeping mum waiting to release their music.
“An artist is like a mirror and we need to use the platform to raise awareness about the repercussions of violence and not just waiting for things to simmer down and release their music.
After all, what is the use of making music when its consumers have no peace?”
Recently, gospel singer Bahati and boy band Sauti Sol were among those who were criticised for being silent or taking sides, only for them to release music when things calmed down.
