When Senator Mike Sonko, Pastor Margaret Wanjiru, Denis Waweru and Johnson Sakaja were moving from one part of the nation to another mobilizing voters to back President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto for the second term in office, Peter Kenneth was in his briefcase party.

Sonko has sacrificed a lot for President Kenyatta to rise to power. During the last general polls, Sonko was among the leaders who pitched tents in different parts of the country to ensure that Kenyatta rises to power.

On the other hand, PK was attempting a dream he knew very well was not valid in Kenya. A section of Kamba community led by Dr Alfred Mutua, who is the current Machakos Governor, has been excited about Uhuru’s leadership.

It will be difficult to convince this community to vote for Uhuru if he dumps Sonko. Furthermore, the possibility of PK getting votes from other communities other than the GEMA is minimal.

If Jubilee fronts PK then Kidero will clinch the seat before midday. Sonko is a man of the people.

There are some leaders and analysts who believe that he will not make a good governor because of his poor academic record.

Education and leadership are two different things. For instance, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has been bashed at on several occasions because of his questionable academic status but the county is doing quite well in almost all sectors amidst wrangles with the current leadership.

Sonko only needs the support of other leaders in Nairobi to transform it.
