Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has vowed to continue with his recent string of night shift works in the service of Nairobians.

Speaking on Friday evening, Sonko said he would continue with his concerted efforts in repairing the Nairobi CBD roads because wellness in the city centre came along with many side benefits.

"Night shift on-going (for) road repairs (in the) CBD," he said.

"Good roads make a crucial contribution to economic development and growth and also brings important social benefits," he added.

Sonko argued that roads in the CBD needed to be at top-notch levels since they were a key catalyst for development in the city.

"Roads are of vital importance in order to make a nation grow and develop. In addition good roads provide access to employment, social, health and education services which are crucial in the fight against poverty," he said.
