KNUT boss Wilson Sossion will not be replaced by the Orange Democratic Movement party after all, says Dismas Mokua.
In unprecedented move, Sossion asked the party to delete his nomination to National Assembly due to ‘some other engaging’ assignments for teachers.
Although his request will be granted by the IEBC on paper, the ODM party cannot be able to replace him with a different person due to strict political parties Act of 2012.
“The law dictates that a party cannot alter names that have already been submitted to the commission and that is a fact that we have to live with,” he says.
He further says: “He won’t be nominated and the people on the list will gain big. The commission will replace him with those on the list.”
Even though he maintains that he bowed out due to other assignments, it is believed that Sossion may have bolted out due to simmering differences within the union.
He will however remain a life member of the ODM party if at all he remains loyal to his words at Baringo recently.
