A section of squatters from Nguu Tatu area, Kisauni Constituency, has hailed a foreign investor for overseeing several development projects in the area. The residents said Dr Aref Assadi, the chair of International Horizons Organization for Relief and Development has changed their lives in different ways and deserves to be elected as an MCA in the area.This comes after Dr Assadi oversaw the establishment of different projects in the area including construction of three boreholes, a clinic, and mosque.The Sief Barhom Elkaabi Clinic, which is one of the latest projects in the area is expected to help several resident access better healthcare services without paying through their noses as they have been doing in the recent past. The clinic is set to benefit more than 5000 residents from the area.Assadi, through funding by the United Arab Emirates Red Crescent, and the Canadian government has plans to establish a primary school in the area to promote the education standards of residents in the coming years. Assadi has, however, said he is not interested in politics, adding that he only seeks to change the lives of residents.“We only provide relief and development. Nothing else,” said Assadi. On his part, Nguu Tatu community chairman Martin Chiponda lauded the construction of the new clinic saying residents stand to benefit greatly from the project.“We thank all of them for the clinic. Now we ask that the county government provides us qualified doctors and drugs for the clinic,” said Chiponda as quoted by the Star.
