A past Supreme Court sitting. [Photo|Twitter]Former Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba has slammed opposition leader Raila Odinga, saying his efforts to oppose President Uhuru Kenyatta was uncalled for.Ababu made a statement saying Kenyatta's win should be upheld by the Supreme Court so as to be sworn in.Below is the statement."We cannot create crisis where non exists, it can't be that every time someone loses an election we have a "crisis". What crisis? In any contest there will always be a winner and a loser. Hillary Clinton beat Donald Trump in the popular vote by about 3 million. But she conceded because Trump won more of the electoral college votes than her as decreed by the American Constitution. Trump is President and we never heard of "crisis" or "dialogue" in the the US. Not even in that famous 2000 Al Gore vs George Bush contest that went all the way to the US Supreme Court. Let us respect our Constitution. Raila Odinga losing an election is no crisis for Kenya. Yes, it is important for us to forge national unity, peace and justice for all. But we must do everything in accordance with the Constitution. Anything else is assault on the rule of law which is a recipe for anarchy. Let us wait for the Supreme Court ruling, and respect the verdict as we did on September 1st. I expect President Uhuru Kenyatta's victory to be upheld because it is genuine and a reflection of the popular will of a majority of Kenyans. After he is sworn in, let us respect him as our President then move on from there."
