Modern lifestyle. Mainly brought about by education where enlightenment and wealth have raised the sense of independence and autonomy. Cases of divorce and being remarried elsewhere is a key reason why people may feel absolutely disconnected to the doctrines of the church and opt to leave. 

Leisure. People have various activities that they do like attending classes, being obsessed with their jobs, and a lot of traveling. These activities form tendencies and customs of shifting attending churches to some other times. Here is where not attending altogether begins.

Individual or personal mistakes. They say a human is to error. Churchgoers might make public mistakes that may seem too much to handle in a church with a lot of criticism. They perceive to have offended the church and Godly values where most of them end up quitting attending masses and church sessions.

Church wrangles and conflicts. Nowadays intense disagreements have led to the splitting of churches. This have been witnessed in different churches in Kenya where priests or even members are in constant conflicts. Members find themselves stranded in between to edges. They end up seeking for peaceful church elsewhere or decide to quit going to church for good.
