For a politician like Miguna Miguna, who has been inciting youths supporting the opposition to rise up against the government, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i should have deported him to Canada, where his family lives, a long time ago.

Miguna knew well that if the country was to go up in flames, he would easily fly to North America. And considering that he reportedly renounced his Kenyan citizenship when taking up the Canadian one, why not take him home to his wife and kids?

A number of NASA leaders who have been pushing for chaos and making it impossible for President Uhuru Kenyatta to deliver on his mandate in the second term should have their passports taken away so that they do not have a second home to go to when Kenya burns.

Millions of Kenyans do not have any other place to call home. Politicians should not be allowed to put the lives of ordinary people in danger.

Miguna’s action of administering an illegal oath to ODM leader Raila Odinga as the people’s president was treasonable, and there was need to make him face charges and have him serve as an example to others.

The other ODM leaders who organised the swearing-in ceremony should also be taken to court.
