[Photo|BCG]Busia first Lady Judy Ojaamong steered a ladies team to a 1-0 victory against their male counterparts in tug-of-war in one of the major upsets recorded in recent times.The special match was part of the Amukura Central Ward tournament courtesy of Busia County Government held at Kaliwa Primary School grounds in Teso South Sub County on Sunday.The male team led by area Member of the County Assembly Moses Ouma alias Baba fielded five players against 10 by the ladies.However, their optimism met a rude shock when Mrs. Ojaamong led team upset the form book to carry the day against the pre-match favourites to their chagrin.Baba said the upset loss was a confirmation that women have strength to defend their families.Judy said the youth team she led had proved a point that what men can do women can do better. "I am now psyched to feature in all future tug-of-war tournaments organized by the County Government. I am now leading the way. Ladies should come up and take sports with zeal," she said, adding that she will also endeavor to promote and nurture talents that abound in Busia County.
