Nobody expected Keriako Tobiko to tender his resignation as the Director of Public Prosecutions, it came as a shocker to many Kenyans. Many expected him to continue with his high-profile job and not join Uhuru's second-term cabinet. When he addressed the nation, President Kenyatta said that he had accepted Tobiko's resignation, paving his way into Jubilee's cabinet. Many Kenyans are wondering the amount of convincing and cajoling it took to bring about the resignation. He has tried over the years to create an apolitical reputation around himself and many were doubtful that he would yield to any political pressure to resign for a cabinet job.His tenure was to come to an end in 2018.Tobiko has taken a low profile since his resignation and attempts at contacting him have hit a dead end as he is not responding to calls from the media.
