The County Government of Uasin will partner with Uraia Trust and Rural Women Peace link organizations to offer technical support to Ward administrators on public participation.
This, according to Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno follows the need to equip Ward administrators with skills and knowledge in public participation and civic participation to assist them to execute their mandate efficiently.
"The devolved unit is still new to many and this initiative will be instrumental in training county officials to understand indepth on constitution and citizen participation," he said.
Speaking when they paid a courtesy call to Chemno's office in Eldoret town on Wednesday, Dennis Mosota from Uraia Trust said they want to work with the county in training and offering handbooks for constitution and guides on citizen participation.
Chemno on his part asked the two organizations to assist informing the public on challenges in the devolved units since the public don't understand it.
"For example, the financial year is about to end yet the Treasury has just sent the development money 10 months down the line," he noted.
"We had challenges, the Treasury has just sent money for development a month to end of financial year and the electorate doesn't understand why; so help us disseminate this information when educating public on challenges of devolved units," added Chemno.
He also urged the two organizations to use different platforms to reach the public in civic education via radio, social media platforms, barazas and public gatherings.
