This is after he differed with Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i following the imposition of curfews in Garissa, Lamu and Tana River. Raila, who was speaking during the presidential debate held at Catholic University, said that the Kenya Defenses Forces (KDF) is still fighting the suspected terrorists because of lack of proper strategy.

He also said that Jubilee has politicize the operation to smoke out the suspected terrorists from their hideouts.

"It is unfortunate that the President should play internal politics...look at the attacks in Lamu and Garissa, we see the unpreparedness of our security forces," he said as quoted by Star.

The opposition, who is contesting for Presidency for his fourth time also said that he will ensure that the Kenyan troops leave Somali after he takes over power.

"We need to withdraw troops strategic from Somalia to our borders and increase our intelligence," he added.

The issue of withdrawing troops from Somali has continued to elicit mixed reactions from different factions.

Most of the leaders backing Raila’s candidature have argue that KDF soldiers are no longer needed in Somali.  Their sentiments have, however, been objected by those backing President Uhuru Kenyatta.
