Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has said that President Uhuru Kenyatta is a president in quotes because he was given instruments of power despite the opposition objecting the outcome of the October rerun. In an exclusive interview at his Karen home, Kalonzo said that it is necessary for Uhuru to reach out to National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga for the sake of this nation
“My brother President Uhuru Kenyatta, and I am calling him ‘president’ in quotes because he has the instruments of power at the moment, and my brother Raila Odinga, the time has come for us to sit and talk this one out,” he said, as quoted by SDE.
The Ukambani political kingpin said that he will reach out to the President and his team to talk with the opposition before the planned swearing-in ceremony of Raila, who pulled out of the October rerun.
“If they – Uhuru and Raila – cannot come together, I hope they will allow me to bring them together so that they can look at each other in the face. These are people who have worked together in the past,” Kalonzo added.
