Historical records shows that President Uhuru Kenyatta respects the will of people whenever he loses an election and chances are, he will cede power if he loses on Tuesday to opposition leader Raila Odinga.
For many months now, the opposition team has claimed that Uhuru is not ready to handover despite history vindicating him.
In a series of rallies however, Uhuru has maintained that he will not hesitate to revert to his private life should he become the first sitting president to lose an election.
“I have done it before and I don’t see a big deal if I lose. Life us not all about politics and there is something else I can do,” he said at a rally in Kisii.
In 1997, despite the vast Kenyatta political network, Uhuru lost to the little known Moses Muhia, conceded defeat and reverted to life outside the world of politics.
He world lose in 2002 presidential elections to Mwai Kibaki five years later and despite KANU’s government machinery, Uhuru conceded defeat even before the final outcome.
