Speaking on Thursday at State House during a meeting with members of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (Kepsa), the head of state said he has never acted on the issue of IEBC as he fears humiliation in case his decision is challenged in court.

"I am not going to tell anyone to leave office then I am embarrassed tomorrow," said Mr Kenyatta.

The head of state also hit-out at one of the ambassadors who he said has been pressurising him to listen to the demands of the opposition leaders who have been advocating for the removal of the Isaak Hassan led-commission's commissioners.

"Ambassador, just to be clear, you don't have to plead with me to engage them," said Mr Kenyatta.

However, the president reaffirmed his commitment to hold dialogue with the members of the Cord coalition who have been holding street protests to pressurize the electoral body officials to leave office.

"I myself have prepared my position which I would like to present to them," he said.
