President Uhuru Kenyatta needs to be angrier in order to defeat NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga, political scientist Mutahi Ngunyi has said. This comes after President Kenyatta criticized the Supreme Court judges for overturning his election victory in last month’s presidential contest. The president, in a tough tone, argued that although he respected the judgement, he disagreed with it. In a weekly analysis of political events, Mr Nyunyi and his team at the Fort Hall School of Government say that since the rules of play have changed, President Kenyatta needs to adjust his game so that he continues winning. “Anger is a powerful tool of political control,” one of the analysts argues. “As Malcolm X taught us, evil prevails in the world because we are not angry enough,” lawyer J.M, also a PhD student, says. Because of the current circumstances, the analysts urge President Kenyatta to stop being a nice guy.“Uhuru should, therefore, change from the nice guy he is to an angry, unpredictable man. He should do it even if it means faking it,” lawyer J.M said. “If Uhuru continues to be nice, Raila will bully him out of power. He should, therefore, bark less and bite more.”
