Cotu boss Francis Atwoli has said his life is in danger because of the remarks he made at the Labour Day Celebrations at Uhuru Park, Nairobi.
Atwoli said that his call for constitutional amendments to create more positions in the government did not go down well with some individuals.
Speaking at the Kisumu Tom Mboya Labour College on Saturday, Atwoli claimed that a number of politicians were now hatching a plan on how to eliminate him.
According to the Cotu secretary general, his proposals to adopt the 2005 Bomas draft of the constitution calling for the establishment of a Prime Minister position rubbed politicians the wrong way.
"There is threat on my life and I have reliable information that four politicians have been planning on how to kill me and have hired assassins,” said Atwoli.
He accused the said politicians of holding meetings to plot his execution and added that he has already reported the matter to the authorities.
“The government has already assured that they will do everything to ensure that I am safe apart from my personal plans also,” said Atwoli.
