Since August 8 general elections the country has not been peaceful especially after the opposition defied the win by Uhuru Kenyatta on the grounds that the election was marred with irregularities.
Series of political stand offs have been experienced in the country since then with the opposition and its supporters threatening not to recognize Uhuru Kenyatta as the president and they went ahead to swear in Raila Odinga as the people's president.
However, the two leaders have lately realized that it only takes the two of them to make Kenya a united state to avoid the ethnicity and tribal politics that has been dominating all corners of the country.
The Friday 9th March meeting between H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta and the opposition chief Honorable Raila Odinga was a great show for the country and the decision to publicly hold a meeting and come up with a positive solution for the prolonged economic stand still due to lack of harmony among Kenyans was the best move the two have ever made.
President Kenyatta and Hon. Raila Odinga coming together to discuss the way forward for the country is a show of unity and oneness that Kenya actually required to get back to its track.
This doesn't only end here, the biggest part if it is that after sitting together and gathering proper ideas to argue upon, the two leaders came up with a joint statement that they have resolved to work together to unite Kenyans.
Odinga in a tweet said that "...the future of our nation is more important than any sole individual..." and this was enough to show Kenyans that the leaders themselves are tired of the disunity and and ethnicity that is ravaging our country's national image.
"Had the pleasure of meeting my brother @UKenyatta for discussions on issues afflicting Kenya. We have resolved that the future our nation is more important than any sole individual," said Odinga in a tweet.
Uhuru Kenyatta represents the government whereas Raila Odinga represents the opposition. Once the two have come together and resolved on taking Kenya to a whole new level then Kenyans need to have no doubt; Kenya is heading to the right direction.
