President Uhuru Kenyatta still stands a better chance of beating National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Amolo Odinga. Uhuru has an added advantage as we head to a fresh election.
Jubilee has 164 out of 290 Members of Parliament and 31 women rep who will play an immense role in the campaign of the President. Raila will have to go an extra mile to garner the required votes. The former prime minister will be ‘unwise’ to bury his head in the sand and assume trouble is gone.
Speaking after the ruling of the Supreme Court, Raila said that he is happy with the outcome, adding that victory belongs to the people of Kenya.
“This is a triumph for the people of Kenya, and we said at the beginning that our journey to Canaan was on unstoppable. On the 8th of August, we crossed the River Jordan. We have reached the city of Jericho, we are marching on to the city of Jerusalem, and we shall get there. As has been said by my other colleagues, we do not have faith in the electoral commission as it is currently constituted,’ he said. However, there is still more to be done by both candidates.
