President Uhuru Kenyatta now wants Jubilee Party secretariat to halt the ongoing membership recruitment across the country to pave way for mass voter registration by IEBC.
Uhuru says the exercise, which is conducted parallel to that of IEBC, is behind dismal figures recorded by the electoral body.
Jubilee Party is currently conducting digital membership registration which is expected to help it conduct party primaries in February.
"I want Jubilee Party to suspend the ongoing membership recruitment. Most of our supporters are confused because IEBC is also registering voters," he said.
"We have done dismally in mass voter registration and I want people to do one thing at a go. We can do our internal recruitment one mass voter registration is over," he added.
Separately, ODM National chairman John Mbadi also suspended membership recruitment for two weeks to also give space for massive voter registration.
