On Monday, while addressing the leaders from Ukambani and Western Kenya at the State House, Nairobi, President Uhuru Kenyatta said Jubilee enjoys a majority in Parliament and Senate that can enable them amend the Constitution without requiring NASA's assistance.

Uhuru further claimed that their numbers can also in two to three months impeach NASA leader Raila Odinga in the event he wins the October 17 polls.

However, while speaking in an interview on NTV on Tuesday, lawyer Miguna Miguna claimed he knows the reasons why Uhuru has threatened to amend the Constitution.

"I think I know why Uhuru wants to amend the Constitution, the man has threatned to deal with the Supreme Court judges after the ruling that nullified the presidential election," said Miguna.

"So what it means is that we may be going back to the dark days of detention without trial, because the judges may be detained without trial," he added.

However, Nyeri Senator Mutahi Kagwe dismissed Miguna's allegations saying, the president made the remarks to establish the fact that a Raila presidency will be futile because he has no majority in both houses making his tenure a difficult one.
