NASA says there is no legal way out for Jubilee. [Photo: PSCU]Jubilee Party will be 'very surprised' in coming days if they think there is a legal way out of the current political deadlock the country is in, occasioned by Raila Odinga's withdrawal from October 26 repeat presidential polls on Tuesday.Lawyer and Nairobi senatorial seat loser by ODM ticket Edwin Sifuna, has said that all legal minds in NASA were consulted before the decision to withdraw Raila's candidature was reached at, and 'there are no two ways out of this situation'."We expect IEBC Chair (Wafula Chebukati) to cancel October 26 elections and order fresh nominations. There are no two ways about it. We have not pulled out of all elections in the history of Kenya, just the one on October 26," Sifuna told Citizen TV's, The Big Question. He said that Jubilee ought to blame itself for Raila's 'unprecedented move', as they (Jubilee) are the ones who were not interested in having 'a conversation that ensures those charged with conducting elections do so in accordance with the law'."If Jubilee had agreed on minimum reforms on IEBC, we would not be here today. They should not blame us for bringing the country to where it is now. But it is fine as it gives more time for political parties to nominate their presidential candidates," Sifuna added.Nevertheless, Uasin Gishu Woman Rep and former Judiciary Registrar Gladys Shollei termed Raila's move as 'political'."The withdrawal from October 26 poll by Raila Odinga is not anchored in law at all and has no legal effect. The constitution is clear. There will be an election on 26th October and we are ready for it. The Supreme Court gave orders and we are bound by those orders," Shollei said.
