Boxing Association of Kenya(BAK) president John Kameta has threatened to move to court to challenge appointment of Rashid Mohammed Achesa as Sports and Heritage Cabinet secretary.
Kameta argues that Achesa is unfit to hold public office since he lied that he served as the association's Western Kenya chairman, a position not recognized by the association.
Kameta speaking to Citizen digital said that he has enough evidence that Achesa was never an employee of the Kenya prisons.
Kameta had told parliamentary committee on appointments that he played for Kenya Prisons Boxing club which ordinary makes him a civil employee of the prison service.
“Sports ministry is huge and only someone who is competent and has knowledge about this field is capable to handle all its affairs. In my own opinion Achesa is unqualified to get into Hassan Wario’s shoes; he doesn’t have the knowhow hence not fit for the position and I’m ready to prove this in court,” Kameta Said.
CS Achesa is yet to comment on his education background even as reports allege that he dropped out of school. He was sworn in on Monday at statehouse with other appointed CS's.
Kameta maintains that he will move to court on Monday February 19.
