City lawyer Ahmednassir Abudullahi says Supreme Court made a ‘political’ judgment instead of examining evidence given by opposition leader Raila Odinga in the presidential petition.
In a landmark ruling, majority judges (4) nullified reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta on ground that IEBC failed to conduct elections in line with the constitution and the law.
And in his immediate response to the ruling, the renowned lawyer accused judges of failing to take into consideration responses given by the respondents.
“This is purely a political ruling but we respect the court ruling. They have decided and we just abide by the ruling,” said Ahmednassir.
He added:”it is wrong to make a judgment just to please someone who failed to convince the court. We shall study the judgment and give comprehensive report.”
During the Supreme Court submissions, Ahmednassir dismissed NASA’s petition as science fiction based on rumours and innuendos.
The nullification now subjects Kenyans to yet another presidential election in 60 days time which is likely to be conducted by the same IEBC.
