President Uhuru Kenyatta’s recent remark that NASA leader Raila Odinga will be impeached within three months if he wins the presidential election will work against him as he seeks re-election according to analyst Peter Ngure.
Ngure says that Raila and NASA will capitalize on the impeachment remark to campaign against the president.
He stated that Uhuru unknowingly gave Raila a campaign tool that will be used to discredit Jubilee government ahead of the October 17 repeat poll.
“Uhuru’s impeachment remark is dangerous for him especially this time he is campaign for re-election in the repeat presidential poll,” he said on Tuesday during an interview.
The Kiambu based analyst also warned that Uhuru’s recent outburst on Supreme Court verdict and other issues some issues could affect his re-election campaigns.
“I think Uhuru’s advisors have a lot of work do as president is preparing for rematch with NASA leader Raila Odinga,” he said.
On Monday during a meeting with Kamba politicians, President Kenyatta said that Odinga will be impeachment within three months even if he wins the seat.
The president said that Jubilee has the numbers both in the National Assembly and the Senate compared to the opposition.
A section of NASA politicians have criticized Uhuru’s remarks terming it a sign that he has sensed defeat in the repeat poll slated for October 17.
