Wiper remains the strongest party in the region but the rate at which members are defecting leaves many questions behind.

Led by Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua, Wiper defectors have affirmed that they have no plans to re-unite with their boss Kalonzo Musyoka.

Kalonzo, who is considered the most powerful politician in Ukambani, has failed to tame the egos of most leaders from the region.

A few days ago, Wiper Party Chairman David Musila decided to bolt out of a rally attended by his boss because of being asked to shelf his gubernatorial bid.

As other communities are uniting just for the sake of Presidency, the Kamba have continued to show division. While Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta are urging leaders from their communities to back his re-election, Wiper leaders are out to teach defectors a bitter lesson.

Giving Mutua and other defector a run for their money will not contribute towards Kalonzo’s presidential dream.

There comes a time when one’s interests have to be ignored for good of the majority, which has not been the case in Ukambani.
