Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka is regaining his lost glory in Ukambani.
The defection of Chama Cha Uzalendo Party leader Wavinya Ndeti, Muungano Party leader Kivutha Kibwana and other leaders to join Wiper is a clear indicator that the leaders from this part of the nation want to rise to power.
The story about Kalonzo’s inability to unite leaders from this region is almost a thing of the past. As we speak, Former lands minister Charity Kaluki Ngilu, Kitui Governor Dr Julius Malombe, Senators David Musila and Mutula Kilonzo Junior, National Assembly Minority leader Francis Nyenze and other leaders have affirmed that they will rally the electorate behind Kalonzo.
The leaders have also insisted that it is either Kalonzo or no NASA. One cannot rise to power in Kenya unless he or she wins the support of his people. The Ukambani political ship is ready to withstand all storms until Kalonzo goes to state house come August.
The former vice president has also maintained that he is not ready for diplomacy this time round unless he is named NASA flag bearer.
Hate him or love him, Kalonzo is right to push for his presidency. The Kamba community cannot afford to wait longer. The community has backed Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga before but he did not deliver victory.
