Over 300 eligible voters in NASA's stronghold of Busia might miss out on the voting this August 8 because their Identification Cards are yet to be collected from the Busia Huduma centre.

According to Centre manager Linda Jaleta, the IDs belong to Kenyans who have done their replacements in the paat one month.

To help prevent this, doors at Huduma centres across the county will this weekend remain open to enable those who have not picked the key documents to do so.

"We normally send short service messages to holders of the IDs upon receipt from Nairobi but most of the recipients don't respond to our messages," Jaleta said as quoted by the Star.

Jaleta also said they have received complaints from married women that husbands are now hiding their IDs when they discover their spouses don't support political parties which they subscribe to.

"We have also received reports that some voters sell their IDs in exchange for money so that they don't vote in the August 8th elections".

"Casting votes is your secret and you don't need to reveal it to your partner," she said.
