Governor William Kabogo now claims that his fiercest rival Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu rejected Jeff Koinange’s call for an interview on Citizen TV on Wednesday because he had nothing to tell his supporters.
Kabogo claims that Waititu was afraid of facing him in the interview because of the development agenda his government has achieved.
The Kiambu governor claims that Waititu does not have a concrete agenda for Kiambu people.
Kabogo dismissed Waititu’s bid to unseat him saying that he is not a threat to his re-election bid in August.
“I have no competitor and it will be a walk in the park for me on August 8,” he said. Kabogo claimed that he will win re-election without sweating.
Waititu is said to have rejected Jeff Koinange request for an interview where he was to face off with Kabogo on JKL show that is aired every Wednesday on Citizen TV.
According to Jeff Koinange, the host of the JKL Show, Waititu declined the interview without giving reasons.
Waititu had been invited alongside James Nyoro who is said to have agreed to deputise him (Waititu) in their quest to unseat governor Kabogo.
The Kabete MP and Kabogo are not seeing eye to eye and have been embroiled in a series of public spats and legal battles.
Waititu has vowed to send Kabogo packing accusing him of failing to deliver services to locals.
The Kabete MP bid to unseat Kabogo got a boost last week after four aspirants who had declared interest in the Kiambu governor seat ganged up to support him under the ‘United for Kiambu’ Alliance.
Real estate tycoon David Gakuyo, James Nyoro, John Mugwe and businesswoman Njoki Gathendu have agreed to back Waititu’s bid.
Kabogo has since dismissed the ‘United for Kiambu’ Alliance saying that he will defeat his rivals’ hands-down in the August 8 polls.
