Embattled businessman Jimmy Wanjigi's father, Maina Wanjigi, on Wednesday called on all bachelors to get married immediately, following a 72-hour police siege on his son's Muthaiga home.

Maina Wanjigi who was at his son’s house when the police raided the home hailed Wanjigi’s wife, Nzisa, for standing by his husband during the 'hard time'."Most importantly, you who are not married, get married. I would like to thank this girl, she has been with those scavenging people, every corner they have gone to. She has been unable to sleep all the three days. And like I said, if you are not married, get married now," the old man said on Tuesday during a presser.He urged bachelors to get married in order to get such support from their wives like Wanjigi.Jimmy Wanjigi was said to have locked himself up in the house on Monday to avoid arrest after police officers recovered a cache of weapons at another house in Malindi suspected to belong to him. He has, however, denied that he is the owner of the Malindi property.
