NASA Presidential candidate Raila Odinga has asked residents of Machakos County to back former Kathaini MP Wavinya Ndeti in the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking in Mutituni, Raila said Ndeti has what it takes to become the next county boss.
The former Prime Minister said he once worked with Ndeti when he was in government, and she was competent to take over the leadership of Machakos.
She also took a swipe at Governor Alfred Mutua, terming him a liar.
“She is capable and I know it as I used to assign her duties when I was the PM,” he said, as quoted by The Star.
On his part, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka said that Mutua betrayed him when he left Wipe to form Maendeleo Chap Chap as he seeks to retain his post.
He also said that the county boss does not deserve another term in office for being disrespectful.
“Machakos Governor Mutua was elected because of me but he disrespected me. Please ensure he is voted out,” said Kalonzo, also Ukambani political kingpin.
