Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti commands massive support in Machakos County. The lawmaker gave the incumbent Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua a run for his money during the last general elections but now she is stronger.
With the support of former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, Wavinya Ndeti will give Mutua a hard time to retain his seat in August if she is cleared to contest for the post.
Wavinya Ndeti is likely to attract the support of women from this part of the nation. The outspoken leader has been very vocal in matters affecting women, youths and disabled. Women voters are likely to consider her over Mutua during the electioneering period.
Ndeti has also promised to deal with the problem of water shortage in Ukambani. Water has been one of the greatest problems facing residents of Ukambani. The voters from this region have been forced to walk for kilometers to fetch water. Mutua has given his best but water remains a problem in Ukambani. Wavinya Ndeti’s candidature is likely to spark excitement among voters whose greatest desire is having water in their homes.
Mutua is not in good terms with the members of the county (MCA). Most of the MCAs belong to Wiper. Ndeti is likely to get more votes because of the support of MCAs.
