Primary school schools students who sat the 2017 KCPE exams will on Tuesday know how they performed as the Examination Council Knec releases the exams.

While addressing the nation, journalists, and stakeholders at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development Knec chairman Professor George Magoha said despite releasing the results earlier than last year they had a few logistical challenges.

"We encountered transport challenges which forced the council to hire choppers to ensure we deliver on the examinations," said Magoha.

However, Magoha was upbeat that this year results will harbor less or even no complaints given that the council used a new state of the art technology to mark the exams.

"This year expect fewer complaints on results because the government afforded us Sh100 million and enabled us to buy new machines to assist in marking. The new machines have at least 99.98 percent accuracy, every child will get what they truly deserve," said Magoha.

According to the Knec chairperson, 993,718 candidates sat for the KCPE exams compared to 577,253 last year, while 10,000 failed to sit for the examination.
