The second round of the Supreme Court petitions is as dull as the funeral of a poor man.
I doubt if any sane Kenyan followed the somber occasion as judge Maraga's robe and that of his fellow ' executioners' outshined the process.
We definitely missed Lumumba's bravado on this occasion and Orengo's machismo.
With Lumumba out, the lay man's language was not palatable in the tongues of the listeners’' ears.
They had developed a great taste for legal jargon.
Every time you went through the village, you could hear Otieno telling Omondi, "Omera, you are my amikaas(amicus) in this lacuna of a situeson!"
We had also gotten used to Orengo's stern owl- eyes, as he dissected legal jargon like a fresh Omena, cooked in BIDCO oils.
Believe me my brethren, It has become cumbersome to listen to the 'amature' lawyers in this second petition.
If Lumumba would have there, he would have implored judge Maraga not to "kill the baby.".
It is the wit of these great lawyers that glued us to our screens.
As it stands, it would be better if we switched off our televisions instead of listening to the dull ' fishing expeditions' in our Supreme Court'.
