Kisii county ODM youths coalition have vowed not to participate in the next general election if IEBC chairperson nominee Mr Wafula Chebukati chairs the IEBC commission.
This comes after president Uhuru Kenyatta presented IEBC commissioners names to the assembly for appointment
Speaking to journalists in Kisii town on Monday ODM youths coalition youths led by Rodgers Onyancha appealed to the government to have regional balance and that not only Wafula Chebukati has qualifications to chair the IEBC commission
They also threatened to call for demonstrations if Chebukati is going to chair the IEBC commission and urged the government to present different name to chair the commission.
“We can’t accept Wafula to chair the IEBC commission and we are going to boycott the next general election because of Wafula we want regional balance in the commission,” said Onyancha.
They urged all ODM allies in Gusii region to oppose the move to make Wafula the IEBC chairperson.
