Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula is in Coast region drumming up support for the party's prospective candidates for the 2022 general elections.
Among politicians he is expected to meet during his tour of the counties of Taita Taveta, Mombasa, Kwale, Tana River, Kilifi and Lamu are candidates expected to vie for various elective posts during the poll. They include gubernatorial, Senatorial, women representative, MP as well as MCA prospective aspirants.
His tour kicked off in Voi in Taita Taveta on Tuesday where he met a host of local politicians.
He said he is setting the pace, setting the stage and putting the Ford Kenya house in order ahead of the election.
"Today (Tuesday) party leader Senator Moses Wetangula together with other Ford Kenya leaders have camped in Voi for another event. Currently meeting with 2022 prospective strong candidates in Voi, then a series of events," the party said in a brief statement on its official Facebook page.
Wetangula's tour comes two days after Deputy President William Ruto pitched camp in the region that is deemed an ODM stronghold going by the election patterns of the 2013 and 2017 elections.
Ruto has expressed interest in the presidency in 2022 and has been busy traversing the country mobilising for support.
Wetangula has not yet officially declared interest in vying for the presidency in 2022.
