Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula says he stands a better chance than his co-principals Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka to deliver a win for Cord in the 2017 elections.
According to the Standard, Wetangula said Raila and Kalonzo have been tested in previous elections where they lost, and could again be beaten by Jubilee next year.
He said as a fresh candidate, he has new tricks that are unknown to their opponents, thus will deliver them a victory.
“I have been quite categorical. My brothers have run before and I am the one who has not been tested and whose political tricks have not been let out of the bag yet," he told the Standard in an interview.
“I am the one who has given them an assurance that I will be able to deliver a stronger punch against Jubilee and deliver victory for our coalition, which will be the victory for the country. The person who can do that is Wetang’ula,” he added.
The Senate Minority leader further assured Kenyans that he will support any candidate chosen to fly the Cord flag in the August 2017 polls.
He said he will support any candidate to be chosen through a consensus to avoid a potential fallout.
